Annyeong Haseyo 2014 @ Heyri Art Village

This art village takes up a spacious lot, with beautiful flowers everywhere. Summer is the season when all living forms spring to life. And the afternoon sun was burning.

There were theme eateries, cafes, studios and shops to fill up your whole day. Besides, you can get customized souvenirs easily over here. Thinking of Malaysia artists, I wonder if they ever have a proper and comfortable platform to show their talents in arts and earn a living from it. Central Market may be one platform for arts, yet they should set up more spots like this for artists to earn a living and to appreciate talents.

How on earth could you climb up this giant chair and make yourself comfortable up there? I would prefer to stay beneath it in the shade.

Annyeong Haseyo 2014 @ Banpo Bridge

We had the biggest reward when we reached here, Banpo Bridge silhouetted against the beautiful sunset. Very quickly our photo-snapping mode was triggered. The park we were standing is a place for family/friends gathering, picnic, dating, cycling and sightseeing. There is also cruise down the river for sightseeing.

There was one little boy with bandaged arm playing around with his family members, who later bumped into me with his big, warm hug as he couldn't see clearly in the dark and had mistaken me as a person he knew. Funny little boy.

As the night deepened, the breeze became colder and stronger. We anticipated the bridge fountain show but failed. I was shivering in cold (wearing long sleeve, sweater, long pants and a cap), urging my cousin to give up waiting and head back to our accommodation.

LinkedIn Scam

LinkedIn is known as a platform for professionals to interact, however there appears to have some scam cases happen around. I would share one that happened to me this morning.

I first started LinkedIn few months ago as a preparation for job hunting, to find inspiration from my connections. There is an advice from LinkedIn to only accept invitation from members you know. So, I started off with connections I know like schoolmates, ex-colleagues, and a few whom I have met during activities or interviews.

Annyeong Haseyo 2014 @ Samcheongdong 三清洞

Samcheongdong 三清洞

Eatery

Memorable food hunting experience, we walked so much to reach the restaurant located at a small lane behind the row of shops, asking people and police around to get to the area we headed to after visiting Gyeongbukgong. When we reached there, we still had to be in the queue as the dining tables were fully occupied. This small shop was merry even though it was packed and hot inside. The pot was not as spicy as I thought, having so many ingredients inside, like noodles, seafood, egg, rice cake, ham etc, just like a steamboat. Certainly worth it after walking so long to get to this meal.

Place: 吃休付走
Food: Budae Jjigae 部队锅/年糕锅 -13000 won (2 soup bases)

p/s: Must choose at least two flavours as the soup base. The price differs with the flavours you choose.

Annyeong Haseyo 2014 @ Hyehwa 惠化

Hyehwa 惠化

Eatery

Never go there alone, because they serve for two (at least) per pax, a group of 3 girls also hardly finished up the whole plate, and it's spicy!!!

Potatoes, chicken, special texture glass noodles, chillies and cucumber cooked together and served in a big plate. Besides, kimchi and pickles are also provided alongside every meal. This is Korean meal culture. Kimchi is good!

Place: Daehakro 大学路
Food: Bongchu Jjimdak 凤雏酱鸡

Annyeong Haseyo 2014 @ Myeongdong 明洞

Let's start the journey in Korea. First and foremost, plenty of gratitude and salute to my dearest cousin/ friend/ travel partner/ photographer Tiffany Sy Soo for the lovely and well-planned Korea trip during 2014 summer holidays. Without her, I would turn crazy with my poor sense of direction and oh my, Korea public transport map! So many lines link here and there... Major language in Korea is Korean, but if you cannot speak any like me, nevermind, quite many of the locals can speak Chinese and few in English.

Again, high appreciation and acknowledgement to Tiffany Sy Soo as the most important source of information and photos, while the elaboration is merely my feeling and opinion.

Eateries

Highly highly recommended Sinsun Seolnongtang, my second meal in Korea (first meal was McD in Incheon Airport). First sip on the soup and I was totally in love with it. I am always a soup lover (p/s: non-spicy one) since I was a kid, so this meal left me a great impact especially in the sense of satisfaction. Don't look down on the dumplings, three went down together with the bowl of rice and reached the end of your throat then you realized, burp, you are too full to speak a word. First rainy, cold night with this hot meal in front of you, what more can you ask for? It's comfortable to warm up the whole body here.

We came back for the same restaurant again the very last night before our flight back Malaysia the next day, but was having the meal in a haste to settle some matter on shopping bill. >.<
